James first encountered Drupal just as Drupal 5 launched, when recommended it by a friend who has since denied it. He initially used it for some science fiction websites, as well as his local LEGO fan group, before dabbling in some commercial projects, including an online shop for his sister's pet shop using Ubercart. He's been developing an online registration for science fiction conventions since 2016, which has been used by many conventions in Ireland, UK and Europe. He took the DrupalEasy Professional Module Development course in 2023 and has been contributing to a number of Drupal projects and has become maintainer for several. He started a Drupal Advent Calendar on a whim in 2022, and recruited some friends to help with it in 2023 so he wouldn't have to do all the work himself. When not working his day job and contributing to Drupal projects, he enjoys building LEGO models, helping orgainse science fiction conventions, and going on hikes with his partner and their border collie puppy.
